PERSONAL DATA PRIVACY POLICY

This Policy sets out how we handle and process personal data received from individuals, including our business partners (e.g. distributors and dealers). In this Policy, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Toyota Motor Asia (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.

In providing us with personal data or allowing your personal data to be provided to us, you accept this policy and consent to our collection, use and disclosure (including transfer) of personal data in accordance with this Policy. If you do not accept this Policy, please do not provide any personal data to us or allow any personal data to be provided to us.

1. “Personal data” is data that can be used to identify an individual. Examples of personal data that we may collect include name and contact details (e.g. address, email address, telephone numbers).

1. We may collect from you, personal data about you and where required, about other persons (from whom you have obtained consent to provide such data to us in accordance with this Policy).
2. Your provision of personal data to us is voluntary and you may at any time withdraw your consent for our use and disclosure of the personal data you provide.
3. You are responsible for and must ensure that all personal data that you provide is true, accurate and complete.

1. We collect, use and disclose the personal data received from you for the following purposes and any other related or associated purposes (collectively, the “Purposes”):

   • managing your relationship with us;
   • delivering services to you;
   • assisting you with your enquiries;
   • obtaining feedback and keeping you updated on our services;
   • complying with our legal obligations and requirements;
   • enforcing obligations owed to us;
   • carrying out research, planning and statistical analysis;
   • administrative purposes, such as accounting, risk management, record keeping; and
   • staff training
2. We may use personal data to contact you for the above Purposes via post, fax, e-mail, SMS, telephone or any other means.

1. We will not sell or rent personal data you provide to any third party.

2. We may disclose your personal data in connection with the Purposes, including to third parties who provide services to us or whom we work with, including:

   • our related entities, such as other entities within the Toyota group of companies;
   • our business partners, such as vehicles distributors and dealers; and
   • service providers and data processors providing services to us.
3. We may also disclose your personal data as required or permitted by law.

1. You consent to us transferring your personal data outside Singapore for the Purposes set out above. If we transfer your personal data outside Singapore, we will ensure that the foreign recipient is obligated to protect your personal data at a standard of protection comparable to the protection under Singapore law.
2. While reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure that the information you provide is protected against unauthorised or unintended access, we cannot be held responsible for unauthorised or unintended access that is beyond our control.

1. You may request for correction and access to the personal data that you provide to us. We may levy a charge for processing your request. We may be prevented by law from complying with your request. We may also decline your request if the law permits us to do so.

This policy is effective 1 January 2018 and supersedes all previous privacy policies issued by us.
